About

Named after the star
you steer by.

NordTell is built in Copenhagen by a small team that got tired of two things: phones that go unanswered, and AI products that treat privacy as a checkbox on a sales deck. We wanted an agent a dentist could set up in an afternoon, that would never bluff a caller, and that kept its data where the law and common decency say it should be. So we built it.

The name

Nord is north. Tell is what you do on the phone, and what a good assistant does afterwards: tells you what happened. The logo is the North Star inside a ring, the one sailors used because it does not move. That is the ambition: a fixed point you can rely on, while everything around it changes fast.

Why the North matters

Scandinavian software has a habit. It is simple, because people here do not have patience for things that need a manual. It is honest about what it costs, because trust is the default and you lose it once. And it treats other people's data as something you were lent, not something you own. Those are not marketing values; they are how our customers, and we ourselves, expect software to behave. The GDPR wrote some of it down. We try to do the rest.

What that means in the product

  • Hosted in the EU. Not "EU region available on request".
  • Recording is a choice per agent: off, on, or on after the caller says yes.
  • Retention is a number you set. Calls, recordings and transcripts expire on it.
  • The model that processes a call is a dropdown, with the provider printed next to it, so a compliance decision is a visible one.
  • The agent says it is an AI. It never claims it booked what it did not book. It always keeps a way to a person.
  • You pay for minutes. There is no seat you forgot to cancel.

Built for the whole world

The agent speaks around forty languages and switches when the caller does. Thirteen have their own safety-net phrases — English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Turkish, Finnish, Danish, Swedish and Norwegian — each written for that language, not translated from the English. The Nordic three came first, because that is where we sit and because most voice products treat them as an afterthought, but a clinic in Aarhus, a hotel in Lisbon and a garage in Warsaw get the same care.

How we work

We ship small changes often; the changelog is the raw commit history in plain words. We test on real phones before we call something done. When something breaks in production, the fix and the story go in the docs, so the next person does not have to guess. We answer support ourselves, from a chat inside the product, and the green dot means one of us is actually there.

Talk to us

Whether you are a customer, a partner, a journalist or someone who found a bug: the contact page reaches the people who build the product, not a queue.
